Feature Request: Improve Zorin Software Update Process

The current update system installs updates in parallel, which can slow performance and repeatedly prompt for the admin password without specifying the software. This creates inefficiencies and user confusion.

Proposed Improvements:

  1. Serialize Updates: Install updates one at a time to optimize resource usage and speed up the process.
  2. Streamline Password Prompts: Request the admin password only once at the start, applying it to all updates.
  3. Clarify Prompts: Include the name of the software in any password requests for better transparency.

Benefits:
Faster updates, reduced interruptions, and a smoother user experience.

You need to remember that Zorin uses the Gnome Desktop Environment which they have modified how it looks to make it easier for Windows Users to migrate to. The underlying engine and how it works is down to Gnome which Zorin Devs don't have control over. From personal experience I find Plasma better, but Discover can be a bit top heavy. I find Apper much better for updates. You should be able to install it from Software. Also take a look at this article, a bit dated, but makes my decision to go with Plasma on a different distro my best choice ... which won't be everybody elses.
