I just updated my Zorin OS and now Firefox is running weird. I checked and the system seemed fine, but Firefox was not recognizing the GPU. I tentatively tried the troubleshooting mode. Then I started Firefox normally and the problem was somehow resolved. 
In case it might be useful to others, I'm posting this here.
When it comes to updates, I find restarting the computer often fixes many problems. If RAM related, turning the computer completely off and on again usually fixes the problem.
At Solus OS we get the weekly update at Friday - but I always reboot after that update. Mostly because a new kernel/firmware/drivers is introduced and do requires a reboot to take effect.
