Fonts to small for my bad eyes

hi everyone. .i have just installed zorin educational . The biggest problem that i cannot figure out is how to increase the size of the text. I have looked everywhere I can think of.It would mak me very happy if someone could point me in the right direction. Thank you.

Hi there. I'm still using 17.3 and things may be a bit different in 18. However, you might look at settings/accessibility. I use the high contrast option which helps my aging eyes. In the same place you can check large text though it only applies to actual Zorin menus not your apps (many of which have their own accessibility settings). Also try under settings/display and you can try scaling options. It gives you 100% and 200% (which is probably too large for most people) but there is also a fractional scaling option you can turn on. One word of warning, I've seen threads that suggested fractional scaling created some unexpected problems elsewhere. Finally back under accessibility there are some zoom options that may help.

Go to Zorin Appearance > fonts, there you can setup the fonts and font size.

Hi, from memory you should go to Zorin appearance and go to Fonts. Then you can choose your preferred font and sizes. Having been a Vision Support Technician for 19 years, the general advice on that other OS is not to make fonts larger than 15 pts or the Menus and Window titles become unreadable. In accessibility there should be a scale factor option which works best at 1.25 as an alternative solution. You will notice in my tutorial videos any documents I launch to say what I am doing is set to 18 point Bold. And if I remember, I also change the terminal preferences to Black on Cream and use a Gothic font. This is why I prefer Plasma to Gnome desktop as it is easier to make Global changes. I opted for MX-Linux Plasma for my eldest as their vision has been affected by Lupus.

Welcome to the Forum!

You can set up a higher Font size like already mentioned her. But there is another Possibility, too:

First install Gnome Tweaks with the Command sudo apt install gnome-tweaks or look for it in Gnome Software. When installed, open it and go to the Fonts Tab. there You can directly increase the Font Size. But there is an Option to increase the Font Scaling Factor, too.
