Formatting my micro SD card

Hello. I recently purchased a micro sd card for my mobile device and it isnt being registered so i figure i need to format it to FAT32. i went to disks to format it but all the option are greyed out for format. Im still very new to Zorin and linux in general so i am asking for assistance in formatting the card wether by terminal or gui. thanks in advance!

i have it downloaded. after waiting for a long time my SD card isnt being listed in g parted for some reason

You might find your answers here -> Unable to format a drive in exFAT

thanks for the link but unfortunately I cant run that command because I dont have a candidate. (not able to recognize the card)

In disks is the SD card recognized there or is it unrecognized there as well, and not listed? If you run a:

lsblk

In the terminal, it should list all the disks that the system can see. Does it show up there? It should show up there if it's plugged in. How are you connecting the microSD card to the computer? Through a USB adapter or a microSD to SD card adapter then internal reader?

How do you connect Your SD Card with Your PC? With a USB-Card Reader? A build-in Card Reader?

Could You post a Screenshot of it?

im connecting the micro sd to the computer by putting it in a full sd adapter and plugging it in my usb 3.0 sd card reader.
After running lsblk im unable to find any storage value device around the tune of 256GB

the same thing happend with the 1TB i initially made this post about. turns out it wasnt a dead card. every card is like this and the only reason im here is because my phone doesnt auto prompt to format my new cards

Could You post a Screenshot of this, too?

you need a gparted screenshot?

No, from Disks like You wrote. But You could make one from GParted, too. Could offer a good Overview.

I ended up just going ahead and upgrading my external storage as a solution. Will mark solved. Ty everyone.
