I've just asked if an old post that appears to have been resurrected to Hardware guide/Tutorials and Guides.
I was thinking that Tutorials and Guides could have sub-headings, such as Hardware Guides : Graphics; Printers; Notebook issues (Backlit keyboards, Fn issues); Bluetooth and Wifi solutions.
I would tend to agree that Tutorials and Guides section has grown very big over time. It is now difficult to find content in there unless you know what you are looking for.
I would support some subdivision of that forum section, if it would make it a more manageable reference library.
I also agree, sub-division would be a good thing, as all our tutorials have gotten buried. As such, nobody sees them, then post questions on general or hardware asking for help, for which a tutorial was already made to help for.
I prefer a tag-based system. Categories are still useful but more broad, but tags are more flexible for this type of thing. For example, tutorials can be about many topics, and that's where tags can be more helpful.
Good thing is, Discourse does support tags but they're not used as often since they're less visible. Making them a bit more prominent would help quite a bit.
Great idea. I've come across some really good guides, but it's been a matter of stumbling across them, as opposed to being confident that I could find them with a targeted search/exploration.
