I’m looking for an audio player that has a perfect fade in/fade out config.
The use case: I use Dark Ambient/Ambient music to fall asleep.
What I need: An audio player (multi platform linux/win10) to play a determined playlist (mp3/m4a) with a perfect fade in/out function that I can set. Say 15 secs fade out as the next track fades in so there’s no break in sound.
Lightweight is better and FOSS.
What I’ve tried: VLC does not have this function from what I know.
Currently using Audacious however when the fad out/in starts there’s a glitch in the sound (less than a second break) as the next track fades in.
Any recommendations for an audio player with this option working correctly?
Thanks
Searching on GNOME Software I read that fooyin has gapless playback, Knowthelist has mixer with fader, auto fader and auto gain, Gapless (AKA: G4Music) might be the best solution because of its own name and Resonance might work because harmonizes the listening experience. I ignored all other results that didn't state clearly about the feature you wanted so I can't know if they actually had it or not , those that I suggested were the most relevant for you and with the highest chance to have the feature.
Anyone uses QMMP?
I want something lightweight...
As an alternative you could also give Radio Paradise a try:
I have the music tracks on laptop and I don't want to use the internet for this.
This is a very peculiar type of ambient music.
Well try QMMP. In the past there were issues with fade in and out but this was fixed years ago. That link I posted tells you how to install.
