Freetube problems

Anyone else use Freetube on the forum? The last few days (3 days) videos do not play, I captured a screenshot below. It's a Flatpak if that makes any difference, it was working fine last week. The uploaded image does look to be all the errors displayed.

Did You got an Update for it? You could try it with uninstall and then install again.

I don't know, I usually just click update and let it do it's thing

I prefer not to unless there is no other choice as I will lose the 150 subs already loaded into it, that's a lot of work and I'm unsure if you can make a file of the subscriptions.
I did do a websearch before asking on this forum however nothing recent came up in the search.

I haven't used Freetube in years, but I'm sure there are ways to export your settings so that you can keep them when you install them on a separate computer, or if you need to re-install.

Keep in mind that it's not uncommon for YouTube to change the way their API works. As the error suggests, this isn't an error on your end, but most likely something that broke in the way it was parsing the content from YT.

When this happens, check the issue tracker for similar reported issues. You might need to update your client so that it uses the correct parser. Or, just wait for a fix.

I have just been rummaging through the settings and yes you can export subscriptions which I just did and saved to downloads, so I might do a reinstall and see how that goes

Do you think it is better to uninstall and delete all files or use the save setting option with the uninstall?

I doubt this is an issue with your settings, so it's probably safe to leave them there. Make a backup anyway, just in case.

I just did a uninstall save settings and did a reinstall, all subs and history were there BUT problem remains soooo I will try uninstall and delete everything and see how it goes as I have a saved file of the subscriptions.

I just did install it and also have this issue, so it looks it's not on your end. Looking at their releases, it looks like the last couple of versions addressed similar problems, so it may be something they are working on internally.

I deleted everything and problem persisted, I imported my subscriptions again and that went fine so I suppose I will just have to play the waiting game and see if they fix it. Do you suppose a .deb file might be better?
Thanks for your help @zenzen I will mark it solved (even though the problem persists)

Probably not, as it's also at the same version number as the Flatpak. It's something that the developers need to address on their end, and then you can update the package once the fix is released.

It sure was on their end, in the new release notes all the errors we both got were mentioned. I did an update of Flatpak via CLI and Bada bing, bada boom Freetube is up and running again.

In case anyone is still struggling with Freetube, I had the same issue so I swapped to Pipline, it's in the repository, & it works just great. I appreciate if you have lots of subscriptions this won't be an easy answer but it may help someone.
