Freeze at startup - Gnome display manager

Hi all,

I recently bought and installed Zorin pro 18, being completely new to the Linux OS. The first few boots went fine. However, in the evening when the computer had gone to sleep, the login screen was completely frozen when trying to return. Had to reboot with the computer power button. Rebooting, the Zorin boot gets stuck at "Gnome display manager" with sometimes "136 call backs suppressed" coming below it.

I've tried entering recovery mode with doing package cleanup without luck.

Does anyone have any idea what could be going on and how to fix it?

Thank you so much for any support!
