Getting AKAI MPK Mini IV MIDI controller to work

OK, so I know the MPK Mini IV only came out like two weeks ago, but on the off-chance anyone knows: How does one get it to work with Reaper (or indeed at all) in Zorin?

I also have an MPK 3, which works just fine & also apparently is simpler - as you can see in this screenshot it only has a single line in the Reaper Devices overview, while the IV has 6...

The "not found" label implies to me that the problem is outside Reaper, on the system side?

It's connected with a USB-C to USB-A cable through a 4-port USB hub, if that matters.

I honestly don't know where to go from here. Help greatly appreciated! :folded_hands:

(oh, the AKAI software for the IV also doesn't work; it's Windows only & I can't get it to play ball, but I think that might be a different topic?)

What are the results in a terminal after entering:

lsusb

?

Thanks for chiming in so quickly! The results look like this (I currently have both controllers connected):

Hi, I've been trying to get the ID recognised of the first listed AKAI device on Linux Hardware but keep getting timeouts. See if you have better luck by copy and pasting this link in your browser:

https://linux-hardware.org/?id=usb:09e8:1049

You could try to connect it directly to Your Machine for Testing if it might be the Hub.

Hey, that was a good tip - especially because it worked!

And not only that; having plugged it in directly & got it working, I could then plug it through the hub (which I need!) & it still works

Dunno why I didn't think of this but I'm glad you did :folded_hands:

Good when it works now.

Well, I have a related problem but I think it may be specifically Reaper-related, so I'm waiting for approval to post it on the Cockos forums rather than here - but yes, I have a way of making the MPK Mini IV work
