This OS has been a bit glitchy on my DELL 7750. Weird things happen, where the screen shuts off or locks up and then I can't do anything. I have to do a HARD reboot. It's like it has a mind of its own.
Could you check if you're running it on Wayland or not? If you go to Settings -> About, it should say in Windowing either Wayland or X. If you're on wayland, I would try logging out, and when you're entering your password there should be a little cog in the bottom right of the screen. Click it, and select Zorin on X. Then login as usual.
Test from there and see if the same issues crop up or not. Wayland is known to cause a lot of little issues here and there, so it's a very simple thing to check first and get out of the way.

If Your Machine is a Laptop, maybe this could help:
Yes, wayland. I switched to Xorg. We'll see what happens.
