In Gnome 46 the Online Accounts also offer a possibility to connect to onedrive, a feature I urgently need.
Any idea when this feature will come to Zorin?
This will have to come with the next major release, Zorin OS 18, as the current release uses Gnome at version 43. It's very unlikely this will be updated as it would involve significant changes to the overall system.
However, Zorin OS doesn't follow a fixed release schedule, and follow a "release when ready" basis instead. I think it's safe to assume we'll know more about it in a few months, but hard to say when we'll get something specific.
I've been using ExpanDrive, a paid-for app, which has connections for Google Drive, MS Onedrive, Amazon S2, Backblaze (which is why I use it), FTP and SFTP.
Connected accounts appear in 'Files' or via the Expandrive entry in the system tray.
Interesting find, thanks for sharing.
@gerhardbeck You may want to check this to set it up manually in case the above doesn't work. I haven't yet tested since Zorin OS 16 but I'm sure the setup won't be much different:
There's also a GUI option:
I need it for a business onedrive account, meaning I don`t have any influence which apps are allowed to log into onedrive.
As my employer means Windows is the only OS to be supported they don't allow any other apps login into onedrive.
Therefore they block ExpanDrive and Insync, I testet it before posting some days ago.
The actual onedrive client is making problems, as Zorin is running in an old curl version. Seemed to risky for me to update.

I needed to force onedrive into https 1.1 which made problems with the GUI software and some other probs.
Right now I`m with the version from the Ubuntu sources which is too old to be used with the GUI and my bigger problem: nor actual enough for the SharePoint files.
So I might give the actual version a second try but took lot of hours last time...
This page
How to Use OneDrive on Linux – FPH Knowledgebase.
suggests downloading the microsoft onedrive installer and running it through WINE. It might be worth a try.
I would have to look into this to see how to make it work, but Zorin OS 17 ships with curl at version 7.81.0. As per that documentation page, this shouldn't cause any issues since the use of HTTP/2 vs HTTP/1.1 is up to OneDrive, not this utility.
Perhaps using WINE is a good alternative, as per @NeilW's suggestion.
Thanks for your help!
I had some tests:
OneDrive on Wine:
no idea how that can be configured in One. Wine is also sending other Errors.
Tested also Rclone. I can connect to Onedrive via Rclone, it's quite comfortable with rclone-Browser. But getting the message that r-clone is outdated and no comfortable autostart
Otherwise I have the same problem as the older Onedrive-Client: It doesn't synchronize the sharepoint files, which would be quite important for me.
The suggestion in Microsoft OneDrive doesn't work
I need to test the newest Onedrive version with Gui one more time and perhaps I put the problems in this forum...
Hate it when companies force Windows on people.
