Gnome Network Displays: "Device state changed. It is now 100. Reason: 0"... then nothing

Hi everyone.

I recently bough a projector with a wireless screen receiver functionnality, throw Miracast WIFIDisplay.
Here is the reference : Cdiscount

So, to make it work I installed Gnome Network Displays (actually version 0.96.0) and it does not work.
I can see the device, then after clicked on it on GND a confirmation message appears on the device's projections :

After clicked on "confirm", GND just infinitly loads after this last few logs messages (using G_MESSAGES_DEBUG=all) :
(gnome-network-displays:2): Gnd-DEBUG: 21:06:34.698: WFDP2PProvider: Device state changed. It is now 70. Reason: 0 (gnome-network-displays:2): Gnd-DEBUG: 21:06:34.729: WFDP2PProvider: Device state changed. It is now 80. Reason: 0 (gnome-network-displays:2): Gnd-DEBUG: 21:06:34.732: WFDP2PProvider: Device state changed. It is now 90. Reason: 0 (gnome-network-displays:2): Gnd-DEBUG: 21:06:34.732: WFDP2PProvider: Device state changed. It is now 100. Reason: 0

And just nothing... that's all : no error message on the terminal, and same on the projector.

Don't know where this problem comes from :

  • I searched on very various forums but nothings seems to apply to my situtation
  • My firewall is disabled
  • Pipewire is installed (but I think I use pulseaudio - not sure)

Does someone have an idea on how I can resolve this ?

Thanks !

PS : I love Zorin OS, thanks for this really great work !

Additional note :
My gf has a Windows 11 laptop and everything works perfectly (she can connect and screen cast his windows wirelessly)

I don't know if this is the issue, but Zorin 17 is based on Ubuntu 22.04 and Miracast support did not arrive until Ubuntu 22.10 so guessing this won't work until Zorin 18 is released.

Damn that's not the answer I expected :sob:

I suppose there is actually no date of the next Zorin OS release ?

Thanks for your reply !

Thanks !
Maybe I'll try MiracleCast but I really wanted a friendly interface to cast my screen (like the GND's one)

Not as yet but expected to be early 2026 based on what someone posted in another thread.

No. But it could come in the 2nd Half of the Year. 3rd or 4th Quarter.
