This is very little to go on, were not inside your head, we can't read your mind. At this point, all we know is your running Core.
(1) Please provide your full system specs.
(2) Is this Zorin OS 17.3 Core, or Zorin OS 18 BETA?
(3) What method are you using, to read temps and change fan speed?
I recommend Psensor for reading temps, which is non-proprietary open source.
If you have an Nvidia GPU, try out GreenWithEnvy
CPU-X is a great app too...
And lastly, I also recommend Mission Center, which is a powerful monitoring tool for Linux as well!
PS: Some computer BIOS, if powerful enough, allows you to change fan speeds and fan speed temp curves in the BIOS. I have an MSI notebook, & it allows such functionality, once I input the secret code to Diagon Alley.
