GPU Maxing out when trying to install Zorin

Hello, I'm trying to dual-boot Windows and Zorin on my pc, but when I boot from my USB in the bootloader and select the safe version (or any other version) my GPU maxes out (black screen and max fan spin)

My Specs are:
Ryzen 7 5700
GAINWARD RTX 5070
32 gigs of ram
750w psu

Everything works fine, and yes, I've tried with fast boot and secure boot disabled.
pls help

Welcome to the Forum!

Okay, let both disabled.

  • Because You have Windows installed: Is Fast Start-Up in Windows disabled?
  • What Tool did You use to create the bootable USB Stick?
  • Is Your BIOS in UEFI or Legacy Mode?
  • Did You tried it with an Offline Installation?

To clarify, you mean you cannot boot into the Live USB at all?

  • fast start-up is disabled
  • I used BlenaEtcher
  • Its in UEFI mode I think
  • Yes I tried an offline installation

No no, it gets into the menu but when I select a install method my screen goes blank and my gpu goes to 100%

Because You have Windows, I would suggest to take Rufus to create the bootable USB Stick. Choose there on ''Partition Sheme'' the GPT Option for Your UEFI BIOS.

Then I would suggest to take the normal Option (Try and Install Zorin) and install it offline. After the Installation, You can install the Drivers and switch from Wayland to Xorg because of Your Nvidia Graphics.

Yeah no dice, made a little progress but I still end with the maxing out gpu. Think I'm gonna give up. :frowning: Thanks for the reply though!
