hey everyone so i just did a fresh install of Zorin OS and ran into a pretty annoying problem. my GPU is just not being picked up properly. screen resolution looks all stretched and weird and i cant change it to the right settings
on Windows everything was displaying perfectly fine so i know the GPU itself is not the issue. its something to do with Zorin not recognizing it correctly
been looking around for options just in case i need to swap something out -
my GPU is an NVIDIA one and i heard Zorin sometimes has issues with NVIDIA drivers. tried going into the driver manager but honestly had no clue what i was looking at lol
is there like a simple fix for this or do i have to mess around with terminal commands. really dont want to break anything since im still pretty new to Linux
Zorin defaults to the Wayland display protocol that does not play nice with nVidia graphics cards. At login screen select your username and a cog appears lower right.
Left click on the cog then click on "Zorin desktop on xorg" then login.
What Nvidia Card do You use? What Driver do You use? Please check the ''Additional Drivers'' Tab in Software & Updates. Does You System run in Wayland or X11? You can check that with the Terminal Command echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
