Hello Forum,
I would like to try making Zorin my main OS but need easy access to the Synology NAS on my LAN. Whenever I install Ubuntu, I see it automagically in the Files program (pic).
I have used the /etc/fstab file before but I don't want to do that any more. Since this Zorin is based on Ubuntu, I feel like I'm missing something to get the graphical connection to a samba share on my network.
Thank you for your consideration to reply.
I am happy to say, Zorin is looking good! I believe I mistakenly logged into the Guest WIFI in my home and a loooooong time ago I disallowed Guest access to the files on my network. After switching to my normal WIFI network the media server was immediately available. I was not able to achieve this on linux mint even on the correct network. I apologize for the confusion but will leave this here as one thing that can go wrong.

I'm not entirely sure what you are asking for here. But since you posted a second time, it looks like you got it all under control.
I have marked post #2 as Solution.
To clarify the problem I had: When I tried the live ISO of Zorin, I did not see Synology NAS on my LAN. After logging in to the proper WIFI network on the LAN, the NAS was immediately available, just as it is in Ubuntu. I left this information on the forum because I could not easily find the answer to "will I see my NAS effortlessly using Zorin" through my first attempt at searching. Thanks.
