I am trying to connect my Samsung phone to my laptop but guiscrcpy does not see my phone. I tap "Allow" on my phone, but that does not help.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get guiscrcpy to recognize and connect to my phone?

This often is a cable connection issue.
Not all usb phone cables have two-way transfer.
Transfer must also be selected on cables that support it at the time of connection.
I have MirrorGo in Windows 10 on the same laptop and it works okay when using the same cable with MirrorGo. So, would the same cable not work for guiscrcpy?
Yes, if all works well there, then we know it is not the cable.
How did you install guiscrpy? Is it a Flatpak?
Yes, I think so.
The developer of guiscrcpy seems to adhere rather strictly to appimage, snap or flatpak.
hmmm...
Have you tried the appimage rather than the flatpak?
Have not tried appimage. I am not familiar with that. How do I do that?
Try this link: Release Release v2023.1.1 · srevinsaju/guiscrcpy · GitHub On the page it takes you to, there are two AppImage files. It's not clear to me which is more appropriate unfortunately, so try one and if it doesn't work, try the other.
AppImages work very much like Windows .exe files, but with all of the supporting files built into them. Once you have it, running it should be as simple as double clicking the downloaded file. It doesn't install; it runs straight from the .AppImage.
Edited to fix a horrible homophone misuse that will haunt me for the rest of my life. My fingers are grounded.
I downloaded the AppImage and got it to run okay, it looks like it is recognizing my phone, but I can't seem to do anything with guiscrcpy. When I click "Start Guiscrcpy" it seems to see the phone but the phone screen does not show and I can't do anything with guiscrcpy.
What about Zorin Connect or KDE Connect? What symptoms do they show?
I have not used either. What do you mean by symptoms?
I think Aravisian means if you have any problems with them.
I found a link that says that developer options should be set in your phone and also USB Debugging. You can try if that helps. The second link is a bit older (look also on site 2!) and in German. I hope you can translate it.
Try it with your appimage. I don't think you need to reinstall the program.
