Has anyone successfully installed the scrivener beta on zorin

Hey everyone I'm new to Linux because I can't function in windows 11.

I've tried linux mint and prefer zorin because the gui is easier for me to deal with.

I'm just wondering if anyone has successfully installed the scrivener beta Linux 1.9.01 Beta Released - Scrivener on Linux (Unofficial) - Literature & Latte Forums onto zorin and had it work?

I could go back to Mint if I have to but I love Zorin so much it would make me sad to LOL.

I've tried a couple things myself and I installed the program enough so that I got a scrivener icon I could double click on but nothing happens after that.

I'm not a fan of scrivener 3 and won't spend any energy to get scrivener 3 working with wine or lutris. It seems like the windows version of scrivener 1.9 might have a bug where it can't authenticate my liscense if I try to run it through wine or bottles.

Any info on this is greatly appreciated. I'm totally stuck.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I don't use it, but I see they have a .deb file. Have you tried it? IF so any error output?

I tried installing the .deb file using the steps in this youtube video https://youtu.be/n1dMMsJzac4?si=huxIdHbX3fdpEN5j The program seems to install but then won't open when I double click the icon.

No error of any kind that I could see. I just upgraded to zorin 18 pro I'll redownload the deb file and try to install it again and see what happens.

Now it just worked! That's so weird, though I've heard sometimes if you just restart the computer sometimes things work that didn't before. Thanks for responding so quickly.
