I bought a new laptop and installed zorin. I have upgraded to zorin 17.1. The new laptop is Lenovo ideapad 1 with AMD ryzen 5000 series and AMD radeon graphics.
$ uname -a
Linux ken-z17 6.8.0-40-generic
I followed the directions from here: Activate AMD Radeon Graphics Card - Zorin Help
After the install and I reboot and boot into zorin, the screen goes black. I am able to reboot into recovery mode and uninstall the drivers and then zorin works again.
I have disabled secure boot.
How can I troubleshoot this issue?
By default for amd the drivers that are already present are good enough. What part of this did you follow?

I can tell that its not right as the screen is extra bright and colors don't look right. When I go to settings about I see
RENOIR (renoir, LLVM 15.0.7, DRM 3.57, 6.8.0-40-generic)
I followed all the directions besides the secure boot part.
Could this maybe be a Dispaly Issue? When You go to Settings>Colors You can set up a Color Profile.
An Alternative to that: Did You tried to start the System with the older 6.5 Kernel?
I did try the older kernel when I was having the issue. Blank screen.
Color setting just show built in display, no options
$ lspci -k | grep -EA3 'VGA|3D|Display'
04:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Lucienne (rev c2)
Subsystem: Lenovo Lucienne
Kernel driver in use: amdgpu
Kernel modules: amdgpu
I tried adding "blacklist radeon" to my blacklist.conf in /etc/modprobe.d and then run "update-initramfs -c -k all". I re-installed the drivers then reboot. This time I saw the Lenovo / Zorin screen before it went blank. I rebooted in recovery mode and removed the driver so I could log back in.
ok I didn't realize drivers were already installed but why is color and brightness off
