Hi Everyone

Its good system for what He uses it for (email, whatsapp, netflix and football). he connects the old laptop to his big tv to watch football and netflix on his old laptop. the Problem is the HDMI isn't even recognised on the system when i try to connect it to his tv and other monitors. i don't reaally know much about Linux just thought maybe i could get a little help.
Many thanks

Welcome to the Forum!
Is this a direct HDMI to HDMI Connection or with some Adapter? Did You checked the Cable? What Graphics does Your Machine have?

thank you for responding
it is a direct connection previous owner said the apple OS worked with HDMI ( i got it for free). the cable works with my Laptop. graphics are llvmpipe (15.0.7 256bits)
But Yout Laptop Screen works, yes? And because You would have a Multi-Monitor Setup then, did You take a Look in the Settings for set that up?

Laptop runs perfect and fast other than this issue. i looked at displays for the multi monitor and about to find the graphics. its a bit of a head scratcher. sorry if i don't respond straight away i'm off to church
No Problem. Take Your Time. When You ready, You could post a Screenshot of the Multi Monitor Settings.

Thank you
here are the screenshots
Quick note, I ran into this same issue with a Display Port cable. I bought a cable that I thought was actually decent, but as it turns out, it wasn't. The cable wasn't able to serve an image to my new monitor. This forced me to buy another cable, which ended up working.
You might want to think about trying another HDMI cable, believe it or not, they are not all the same. They are basically have a certification, (if they bothered to get it certified) and are capable of different bandwidth and refresh rates.

Okay, yes. There is no 2nd Monitor at all. A simple Way would be @StarTreker's Suggestion to try a different HDMI Cable.

I tried a 3 or 4 HDMIs including an offical ps5 one. Maybe it is the Macs HDMI port. so strange.
Doing a search in Brave A.I. search engine via mojeek.com brought back:

Okay, You are using an Nvidia Graphics. Then please take a Look if Your system runs in Wayland Mode or X11. To check that, go to Settings>About and there look for a Line called ''Window Manager'' or ''Display Manager'' or similar. Look if there stands Wayland or X11. If there should stand Wayland, try it with switching to X11. To do that:
Go to the Login Screen (not the Lock screen). Simply reboot for that. On the Login Screen click on Your Profile so that the Password Field appears. It has to be appeared. When it is appeared, You should see in the bottom right Corner a Gear Icon. Click on it and choose the Option ''Zorin Desktop on Xorg'' and then log in and test if it works.
