HDMI, Sound output ok, but no video-output onTV

I am a Linux newbie and quite inexperienced. Now I have a problem, possibly only a small one, but I can't get any further.

I want to connect my notebook to the TV (Philips) via HDMI cable and watch videos.

I have managed to hear the sound via the TV set. But I don't get the video image, only the standard wallpaper from Zorin.

What can or must I do? Thanks in advance for help.

Welcome to the Forum!

When You take a Look in Settings>Displays what is shwon to You? Could You post a Screenshot? And it would be nice when You could add in Your Profile Settings what Zorin Version You use or at least write it here.

You need to mirror your notebook screen to your television.

Hello Ponce/De/Leon,
here is the screenshot:

I cannot see anything to figure.
I Use Yorin 17.2 Pro but until now only in live/modus.

Hi Michel,
thanks for your answer, but, sorrz, i don't know what you mean.

Right mouseclick on your desktop. When you go to display settings you see the option. You can change screen 1 or 2 in there.

Here to get the idea, i used endeavour os for it but it works the same.

Left is the notebook screen, i plugged in the cable and got a screen what i want to do. Right side is the tv screen:

Settings where you can change the display priority in gnome:

Hmm ... it seems only detect Your built-on Screen and not Your TV.

You could try a different HDMI-Port on Your TV and/or on Your Laptop and see if it will be detected. Another Option would be to try it with a different HDMI-Cable. Would be good not use a cheap China Cable.

But what You show there is KDE. This could be irritating.

It was just a sample where the setting is located. When you right click on the desktop and select desktop settings you get the same screen.
