Headset JBL Quantum 400 (USB type C)

Hello!
Well, the truth is that I am a complete newbie when it comes to linux, this is the first distribution that I use since I switched from windows 10, and when I did it I noticed a problem that I really don’t know if it has a solution.

My JBL Quantum 400 headphones work with sound only, but not with the built-in microphone.

I have looked everywhere but have not found a solution. If you could help me with this it would be amazing. I appeal to your goodwill.

I have read that there are several people who do not find a solution to this type of thing, others who install some software that helps them.

If there is a solution for this case, I hope it will help those who have not been able to use this Headset in the future or for similar cases.

I have seen several posts started on here relating to headphone microphones not working. i.e. Microphone not showing from my bluetooth headphones and Settings of bluetooth earphones Neither seem to resolve in a solution, but they refer to bluetooth devices not USBC connection.

Just done a web search for the problem on ubuntu 18.04 and there are more of the same. So seems to be a wider problem. Also can’t seem to be able to find a real solution.

Zab, the solutions I see posted in your first link include two that I have seen as those that work the most often:
Removing the home .config directory and rebooting (After backing up the original .config as .config-bkp to save any OTHER configurations the user does not want lost…) and rebooting.
OR…

sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

options snd-hda-intel position fix=1
options snd-hda-_____ index=0 model=______

Where _____ is the processor manufacturer and the model of the headset.
