Hello I want do ricing for zorin os they tell me is locked is that real locked means I cant customized it & thank you .
What do you want to customize?
When you want to use other themes you need to enable the gnome extension user themes.
Zorin lite is more flexible to customize things as Zorin core. Gnome is more restrictive and does not allow many things by default. You need extensions to adapt it to your needs.
I would suggest Zorin OS Lite over Zorin OS Core, as it is much more open to customization.
Zorin OS Core is not "locked", but it does use Gnome 43, and LibAdwaita.
You can customize so many things: You can use your own themes, you can change the start menu to arc menu, you can install another desktopenvironment, you can install another file manager, you can remove flatpaks and/or snaps, with gnome-tweaks you can easily change some settings, gnome dconf editor gives you a gui to see some more settings than shown in the normal gnome settings...
If you're referring to folders/files that are locked you have to give your user root rights to open them. To do this enter in terminal
"sudo -i"
and then
"nautilus"
(if you use the default file manager of Zorin core, this is called "nautilus" in terminal)
This will open the file manager as root so that you have access to all files.
CTRL+h will also show the hidden ones.
If you often need this function you can install nautilus-admin with
"sudo apt install nautilus-admin",
this plugin allows you to open files/folders as administrator directly by rightclicking in file manager:
Who said that it is locked? And in what Way? What do You want do with it?

I'd suggest do not all at once. Begin with easy things that not disturb your system if you don't know exactly what you're doing and what effects terminal commands have.
If you want to, install another theme and/or icon theme or a new cursor theme. That is difficult enough for a linux beginner. The help site for installing third party themes on Zorin I had already linked. At websites gnome-look or pling you can find themes.
Adapt your taskbar/dock so that it shows all favorite apps you want.
Or another possibility is to install gnome extension arc menu. With this extension you can change your startmenu that it looks more like you want.
Yeah
Arc Menu is epic lots of customisation
I'd also recommend Forge which is a gnome extention
Neofetch and Cmatrix are some basic terminal commands that can help rice.
You can also right click on the task bar and edit task bar settings.
this soultion thank you
