I tried to install zorin os 18 r3 in my HP victus 15 laptop (amd CPU, Nvidia 4060 GPU) with the intention of dual booting from the same drive (the laptop has only one ssd) with windows 11. I tried all the options of installation in case there is a problem with the GPU drivers and the installer always comes up with the unrecoverable error message. The live trial of the os works fine but the icon to install zorin os doesn't respond. I flashed the iso with Rufus. Also fast boot and secure boot are disabled.
Can you please post a photo of the error?
Recently there were reported few problems about such installation errors. I'm wondering if it could help to try the installation with an older .iso file of Zorin.
In an other post with the same problem the guy who made that post said his installation was flawless when he installed zorin os 18 r2, and then when he tried to install the 3d revision he encountered this problem. Nevertheless, there is no way to download the 2nd revision officially.
Yes, you can when you select other mirrors to download from. Then click on 18, and there you find all .iso files.

Thank you! Tried all the zorin os 18 core iso but with no luck. The same issue comes again. I also verified the integrity of the download and disabled secure boot and fast start up. Maybe the problem lies with the USB stick, as the one I used is quite old. I'll try with a new one to see if there is a difference.

Is Fast Start-Up in Windows disabled?
Is Your BIOS in UEFI or Legacy Mode? Did You tried an Offline Installation?

Try boot repair from the live USB. It may give you a NVRAM locked error but may still have done enough to get you past this. Then check in your BIOS that you have a Ubuntu boot option and if so move it to the first option. Then try rebooting. You may get lucky.
Yes, fast start up in windows is disabled. My BIOS is in UEFI mode. My install is always in offline mode as the error message (in screenshot above) is the first thing that comes up after the initial boot sequence is complete, so i dont have the option to conect to the internet. I can only try the os in a live desktop session. If i double click the install icon in the desktop nothing happens.
And You used Rufus I saw. Did You have chosen in Rufus on the ''Partition Sheme'' Option GPT? This would be good for Your UEFI BIOS.
damn how many people need to write unplug the internet cable during system installation!
I also tried 10 times and restarted the ISO nothing helped until I unplugged the internet cable and installed normally without all those packages that can be installed later.
Yes, my partition scheme was GPT in Rufus. But after many attempts I tried the MRB option to but with no results unfortunately. I also tried with a new USB stick and picked all the available options one by one (first i tried "try or insta zorin os", then the "safe graphics" option and last the "Nvidia" option) with all of them ending up to the same exact problem. Maybe there is some issue with the ssd of some sort. Also I have turned of the bitlocker before I start any attempt of installing the os and I had already partitioned 80 Gigs for Zorin os
I don't have internet to my laptop during the installation in my case as I don't plug it directly because I connect via WI-FI. Nevertheless, as the unrecoverable error appears after the boot up of the os I don't get the chance to connect to the internet in the first place.
Hmm ... maybe download the ISO again. Then check the Checksum of the ISO and create a new Bootstick with a different USB Stick and try it again.
Unfortunately I have done all of that. I tried to install zorin os 18 more than 20 times with different USB sticks always verifying the checksum, I tried all 3 of the different revisions of the zorin os 18 and the original release, i tried to flash the iso with Rufus and balena, I also tried all the options regarding the graphics (during the booting sequence), but nothing works. I can't really think of anything else to try.
Hmm ... You wrote that You have an AMD CPU. What Model is it? When it is a really new one, maybe the Kernel can't handle it.
I wonder if Zorin OS 17.3 .iso would install...
You could then run the Zorin Upgrader to bump it up to 18.
The reason why I wonder this is because Zorin OS 18 introduced a new Installer: Subiquity.
The previous many Zorin OS installations used the mature and stable Ubiquity installer.

My CPU model is Ryzen 7 8845HS with Radeon 780M integrated graphics.
That's a pretty good idea. I will try this to see if it works. The only thing I'm concerned is the fact that 17.3 uses an older kernel so I might encounter errors with my setup, but I will give it a try!
Yes, @Ponce-De-Leon's comment remains valid. But even if the older kernel has some issues... Upgrading immediately to 18 using the Built in tool will also upgrade the kernel, too.
I just tried to install the 17.3 version (tried all 3 options regarding graphics during boot) with the same exact problem coming up again. Maybe it's something with the SSD. In an other post with similar issues someone said that when the installation was done to a different ssd everything went smoothly.
