Hotspotshield Connection

Hello Guys,
When I was using Zorin OS 17.3, my Hotspot Shield VPN connection kept logging out (after one day or some restart) , so I had to log in again every time, which was a hassle. But I don’t have this issue on Debian 13. Why is that?

Did You take a Look in the Settings if there is some kind of automatically Disable Function?

I've been dealing with a persistent VPN issue on Linux for a while. My setup had a problem where I would get frequently and unexpectedly logged out of my user account.

When I researched this, common advice suggested that this behavior was normal for some VPN clients, and the recommended solution was to switch to using OpenVPN to maintain a stable connection. However, due to heavy government censorship and filtering, this method proved completely ineffective for me.

Interestingly, this problem has completely disappeared since I started using Debian 13 a month ago. With the same setup, I no longer experience any VPN issues or random logouts—unless I connect to a new, unfamiliar Wi-Fi network.

Now, with the upcoming release of Zorin OS 18, which I plan to migrate to as I have for the past 4-5 years, I'm curious about this discrepancy. It makes me wonder why I had these persistent issues on Zorin with its default settings, while Debian runs flawlessly under the same conditions.

Have you reached out to this VPN provider for support on the matter? They don't seem to offer different versions of the client software based on the distribution, so it's possible that they're doing things in such a way that works best for more recent versions of Ubuntu and/or Debian.

I will contact them, ty

Debian 13 is a new Release with newer Packages and Drivers. Maybe this VPN needs something of this? I would agree with @zenzen to contact the Provider and tell them that You use Zorin/Ubuntu 22 LTS.

Out of Interest: Did You tried it with a Linux Mint or Ubuntu 24 LTS?

No I didn't try them for awhile so I didn't check VPN on them either.
I guess I will wait for Z18.
Thank you guys.
