How do I properly update my nvida drivers after a new kernal update?

so after an update I have a 5.13.0-44-generic kernel now but there is just one problem. my NVIDIA driver that was installed for the settings now just has prime profiles showing. how do I fix this without reinstalling the OS?

also, what does this new kernel add anyway if anyone knows?

Please try:

sudo apt remove --purge '^nvidia-.*'

sudo apt update && sudo apt ubuntu-drivers install
