What are the proper commands? I am using Zorin 18 Pro.
Right-click on the icon you want to change, then select "open with other application" and select texteditor there.
Then the texteditor will open the .desktop file of the launcher.
Go to the line which begins with
Icon=
and set the path to the image you like to use (you can copy the image and paste it there). Then save the file.
Do you want to replace single desktop icons or all folders icons?

Hi, Thanks for replying. I am sorry it has taken this long to get back to you. I want to let you know that I want to replace several icons on my desktop. When I follow your steps, I get as far as Text Editor then I don't see anything like

This happen to my ebay icon, my amazon icon and my
WAPO icon.
Also I have an icon file on an external drive. When I plug the ext drive usb cable into my zorin os laptop I can't find the icon file. Any tips you have would be helpful.
also, how do you attached jpg's to this thread? I want to show a screenshot of what I am dealing with but the paperclip icon doesn't allow me to attach anything.
