I am having trouble applying a custom cursor. I extracted the file, and according to Google, it says to put the Index.html into the icons folder, but after I do that, the option for the cursor still does not appear. Does anyone know how to do this?

Create a .icons folder in your home folder (at ~/.icons) and put the extracted cursor theme there.
To show the hidden files in your file manager press ctrl+h.
Logout and login again.
When you have problems at this storage place you can also put it to /usr/share/icons.
Maybe you also need to set a link like for redglass and whiteglass?

Google doesn't explained that right. You extract the Cursor Theme, yes. But You have to put the whole Folder in the icons Folder and not only the index.theme File.
Can You say what Cursor Theme You have chosen?
