How to change the user to administrator when I don't have the administrator password

Hello.
I want to install a program from the software hub but it asks me for the Administrator password. Which I never had to setup during the installation of my ZorinOS.

I stumble across this post that state I can change my user parameter to administrator. But when I click on that button, it asks me for the Administrator password.

I'm stuck in a loop.

ok. I found the issue. I have removed myself from the admin with a
"sudo usermod -G kvm" that I found on a forum. I shouldn't have done that xD

So you installed Zorin as a VM (Virtual Machine). My normal advice is to setup an administrator account during install, then post install add yourself as a Standard user. Then if you want to install anything, you just have to enter the administrator account password.

It is interesting that PCLOS Debian enforces this method after install, not account creation of administrator but a popup that asks you to create the administrator password. When using the terminal to install anything you have to su first, then you are asked for admin password to get from $ to #.

Q4OS takes a more "laissez-faire" approach to enter a different password for administrator actions.

not at all. I just removed myself from the sudo group on my local computer trying to install kvm.
I fixed it by entering in recovery mode and then add myself back again to sudo group.

Ok, right. I was just focusing on seeing kvm. My bad.

I marked your post as solution.
If it turns out not to be, you can hit the checkmark again to unmark it and then relay what issue persists.
