How to Convert PPT to MP4?

Hi everyone,

I have a PowerPoint presentation that I need to share with people who may not have PowerPoint installed, so I'm looking for a way to convert it into an MP4 video file. I would like to keep the slide transitions, animations, and any narration if possible.

What is the easiest and most reliable method to convert a PPT or PPTX file to MP4? Are there any built-in options or best practices I should know about to maintain good video quality?

Any suggestions or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think you can do this in PowerPoint:

Hi and welcome.

I have not tried this with current version of Okular, a pdf document reader, but at the start of lockdown in 2020, I was running FerenOS and using Okular with Presentation backend add-ons that allowed you to view Presentations in Okular. Okular even has a Presentation mode for pdfs which can progress with a mouse click or choose a set time for transition. Additionally a progressing circle appears top right indicating page/slide number. Okular is available for Windows as well as GNU/Linux.
