How to find the shared folder in /mnt/hgfs when using VMWare

I switched from Oracle VirtualBox to VMWare because the latter seems to support multiple monitors better. However, I have one problem in VMWare trying to share files from my Windows host to Zorin guest and vice versa. I watched some YouTubes on how to set up the shared folder, but no matter what I do, I can't find the shared folder in the /mnt/hgfs directory.

Oracle VirtualBox was more straightforward with shared folder capability.

In Terminal, I see a folder under /mnt/hgfs called "shared." However, there are no permissions set. It shows:
d????????????. I created this folder in the VMWare shared folder setup utility.
