Hello, I was happy to see the last version of Zorin OS, my favorite OS, uses now Brave as default web browser. But after some minutes, I noticed you have removed some of its features! Were are the Brave rewards?? We can very easily get some crypto without effort using it so I don't see the point to remove it.
You can't find them even in Settings? I'm not sure how the Zorin devs hid the features, I figured they would hide them from the interface only, but leave them in settings.
You have to Look in the Settings. Zorin turns this whole Ad and Cryto Stuff off. So, You have to activate it. The Stuff is not removed. And the Brave Repo is already added; that is the Reason why Brave is available in Zorin as a .deb Package.
And when You still want to add the Repo, you should take this official Description for Debian, Ubuntu and Mint:
All of this is saved in a configuration file which is likely what the developers have modified by default. You will find that file in your home folder at: ~/.config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/Default/Preferences. You can copy and paste that file from and to other computers at that same location to have the same settings everywhere, although I'm sure you can also do this with their synchronization service if you have an account set up (I haven't tested this).
It is listed in every menu, as well as a large lion-face icon on the address bar even with it disabled in settings.
I would love to know where to look to not find it...
I'm not sure about the lion face, but the rewards should go away if you disable it in settings. If you right-click on that icon, you can remove as well.
And no... I have communicated directly with the Brave Developers on this in the past. Disabling rewards absolutely does not get rid of the Lion Face Icon on the addressbar and the developers have made themselves abundantly and staunchly clear that they will not even consider its removal.
What we had asked the developers about was actually about changing its color at the time...
I will need to look up that discussion, It has been a couple of years...
If yes, this is the Brave built-in Blocking Tool. As far as I know it isn't possible to make it disappear; it is baked in the Browser. It is not like the Browser Extensions what You can add.
I did - and I was also mistaken as to what it was. @MidnightRose corrected it is Brave Shields, not the link to Brave Rewards. In fairness... I never used Brave Browser so I mixed them up.
