How to remove lock screen password?

I do not need a password as I'm a home user. How do I remove the lock screen password?

by lock screen password , i assume you mean login password?

settings - users and groups - at password: asked on login click change , check checkbox don't ask for password on login

I'm on Lite , so your settings probably looks bit different , unless you on Lite too lol ( don't know what you on)

Thanks. I'm on 17 lite too.
By lock screen I meant when you go away for a few minutes.. and come back to find the laptop asking you for your password..

power manager

note my when inactive for is set to never , so it doesn't ask for password too when it's idle for whatever time (monitors still go blank). that's another option
also note on battery and plugged in each have their own settings

Funny mine has the exact same selections.

Yet, it keeps locking and asking for my password!

hmmm... sorry ,then this goes above my pay grade lol. Not sure why it would still ask for password then , mine doesn't .
Aravisian could most probably help better

The cure in my case was to disable Lock Screen in Screensaver settings.

You can't really get around not entering a password; that's the purpose of a lock screen. You would have to prevent the session from locking when you away in the settings, as mentioned above.

Alternatively, you can delete the user's password entirely. In the terminal:

sudo passwd -d zenzen

This will effectively make the user "zenzen" (change that to your own) to become passwordless.

Note that you will be asked for the password anyway; that's just how the lock screen works. But you can leave the password blank and hit Enter and it will log you in.

I suppose a mandatory disclaimer is in order: this basically renders your security down to zero... when running sudo commands the same is true, and any malicious script or program will have easy access to the rest of the system.

One solution to this is to remove access to the sudo command from this user, and create another dedicated account for the explicit purpose of installing software and other system changes.

Thanks so much. I didn't know that screensaver can be activated without a lock screen. Problem solved ..many thanks.
