How to solve some of these issues when installing nemo-extensions & winetricks

Hi, im using zorinos on legion go handheld which is a amad machien and i mtrying to install some nemo-extesnions.

how do i solve The following packages have unmet dependencies: nemo-preview: Depends: gir1.2-xreader but it is not installable

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
nemo-media-columns: Depends: python-nemo (>= 3.9.0)

how to add nemo-repairer, nemo-mediainfo-tab, nemo-media-columns, nemo-audio-tab, nemo-image-converter, nemo-theme-glacier, nemo-folder-icons, nemo-fileroller and nemo-preview. and add arch linux repo.

for wientricks, i trie dinstalling it via gnome software. but it gaved me an error when launching.

how do you install debtap?

Welcome to the Forum!

Arch Linux Repo's shouldn't be compatible with Zorin because that are 2 different Systems. And when all these Extensions come from Arch they shouldn't work, too.

Did you tried to install winetricks over the Terminal with sudo apt install winetricks?

figured that was case with arch, for wientricks i tried and it gaved me an error when launching it.

warning: wine cmd.exe /c echo '%AppData%' returned empty string, error message ""

nevermind, new issue.

vcrun2008 install completed, but installed file /home/talion117/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files (x86) (x86)/Common Files/Microsoft Shared/VC/msdia90.dll not found

This one should be easy to fix, just install msdia90.dll where the software requesting it expects to find it.

how to install it?

Should be a single file that you can easily download anywhere directly in the said folder. Just search for this .dll and install it where the software expects to find it and once you run the software it shouldn't give problems anymore.

ok i havve it download it. i tried insalling the dll file. it gave me an error saying there is no programs to open this type of file. file not found.

i do have have the 32 bit and 64 bit versions in there right places.

On my previous message I wrote to run the software, not the .dll. The .dll is run from the software automatically because it needs that .dll to work properly. You installed both the 32 bit and the 64 bit .dlls but the software will most likely use only one, according to what the software requires. Now that you have both .dlls in the correct folder (that, reading a message of yours, is /home/talion117/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files (x86) (x86)/Common Files/Microsoft Shared/VC) see if running the software works, run its .exe.

still says it. even after finishing the vcrun2008 install. they both were instaleld. but if you were to run it again. it say repair or uninstall vcrun2008.

What does repair do? If I remember well, it just proposes to uninstall, whenever I tried it when I was using Windows years ago it was just doing that :person_shrugging:. I assumed that running the software after placing the missing .dll on the correct folder was enough to solve the problem :face_exhaling:.

all repair does is repair whatever what was damage in the file. it fixes it.

yeah, idk whats going on. i never had this issue on arch. idk what could be creating this issue.

This is also another reason for why I'm not so patient anymore as I was before in solving issues (in fact, specially and exactly about running my favorite .exe games here on Zorin OS Core), because it can even take a lot of days to do so, and when I finally find how to solve it it requires to change some or lots of files manually or do other stuff that's pretty annoying to do. If then moreover after my changes the software still refuses to work I just lost my time and then I'm tempted to smash my laptop furiously.

Should be sudo apt install wine-mono and sudo apt install wine-gecko.

E: Couldn't find any package by glob 'wine-gecko.'
