How to turn off the screen without locking the PC?

I like to set timers to do tasks (eg reading a book) without my laptop screen on (to avoid the distraction of the screen's light).
At the moment I do this using Super+L to lock the screen, after setting my timer. However, this means each time my timer finishes I need to enter my password to reset the timer, which breaks my attention more than just clicking the timer reset button.

Is there some way to have a shortcut to turn off my laptop screen? I search already but the solutions I found didn't work.

Hello, you can't make a shortcut in settings>keyboard with this command:

xset dpms force off
