HP Probook 4 G1ah 16, Zorin won't boot after installation (AMD processor and GPU)

Hello, just got new HP ProBook 4 G1ah 16, lateast Zorin freez on Zorin logo while boot.

Happy to allow remote access for investiagation, Live Zoring works OK

Hello,
Did you try to disable secure boot and fast boot from the BIOS ?

yes secure boot is disabled otherwize I was not able to boot from USB. In my personal opinion it is that kernel goes in to panic mode, I will try to disable all fancy BIOS settings and see how it goes. Funnies part is that Live version works 100% only after installation Zorin logo freez.
On the other hand previous model HP ProBook 445 G9 and G10 works as a charm with Zorin, both with AMD engine under the bonnet.

Is Windows still installed on the Machine? If yes: Check that Fast start-Up is disabled.
What Tool did You use to create the Bootstick?
Is Your BIOS in UEFI or Legacy Mode?

Hello,

No Windows at all. I test workstations to work under Linux only.

Installed on many machines, this one is relatively new with stupid Copilot buttons.

Let me spend some time tomorrow on it.

Reason I am interested to solve issue for this model is that these machines with AMD are best value for money and HP ProBook 455 is no longer manufactured.

I am seriously thinking of implementing Linux Zorin to my organisation and be delighted if we can have meeting about it.

As you know Windows is a problem and there is no better easy Linux distribution than Zorin. I tried Mint and Ubuntu not as easy to use for average computer user.

You can call me Linux fan boy but I am too old for this nickname I am just looking on reality of what is going on and in my opinion Zorin is the choice.

Good morning,

I have disabled all security features in BIOS, like all of them, system booted no problem after changes.

After auto BIOS update enforced by Zorin 18.1 I run another installation with default BIOS settings and all worked well.
