Will keep this short. I cannot in good conscience recommend Zorin OS 18. For example, in VLC (.DEB version), the file picker window reverts back to the old style one (where you have to dig through folders just to get to an internal storage drive), whereas with the Flatpak version of VLC, the file picker window pulls up the regular file manager, and it works the way it's supposed to. Same thing with SMPlayer (for both .DEB and Flatpak versions). This isn't right. It's not OK. The across-the-board lack of consistency and relative polish. I'm very disappointed by this release. I will not buy the "Pro" version, and cannot recommend Zorin OS to others. I know I am but one voice, but sometimes that's all that's needed to make a difference one way or other. I'm done. I wish the Zorin Group luck. Will stay with Debian. Thank you.
I don't quite understand what You mean exactly but the different Behavior could come through the Usage of .deb and Flatpak's. And the Flatpaks bring a different Gnome Dependency which grounds on an more up-to-date Gnome Version. And on these the File Picker is the same as the File Manager.
The Gnome Version of Zorin 18 is Gnome 46. There it is seperated. Debian uses Gnome 48. So, there it is integrated.
