I can't launch steam

When I try to launch it (writing terminal “steam” without quotes), it says;
/home/pofdzm/.local/share/Steam/steam.sh: line 1: syntax error near unexpected token newline' /home/pofdzm/.local/share/Steam/steam.sh: line 1: !’

I am just new to linux, want to know how can i fix it.

Can you try using System Tools -> Synaptic Package Manager to fix/reinstall steam?

If you don’t have Synaptic, install in terminal using sudo apt install synaptic
Then launch it and use Search to find steam. Right clicking Steam under the “Package” column will give you options to fix or reinstall.
