So, i have been using ZorinOS for quite some time but thought about giving Arch a try. Didn't have many issues, but couldn't be bothered to literally research any issue for hours. Then switched from base arch to endeavourOS (arch based distro). Well, my main monitor kept restarting, didn't know why. Switched kernels, drivers, everything. Nothing worked. Then gave Mint a try. Whenever i rearranged my monitors in the settings, everything broke. Couldn't be bothered to try and fix it. So yeah, im now back on ZorinOS, installing it worked flawless AGAIN.
Now i installed ZorinOS again. No issues, no fixing needed, no researching. Nothing. What am i supposed to do with my free time, now that there aren't any bugs whatsover?
If you are still unsure about using ZorinOS: USE it. Trust me. Save yourself trouble and headaches. Best looking distro by far.
Thank you for reading, nothing you haven't heard before but i just wanted to give my 2 cents.
See ya!
EDIT: I have not made it clear enough, i love ZorinOS and so should you haha. Its easily the best distro!
Not too long ago i was in the same boat, distrohopping from distro to distro. I dipped my toes into EndeavorOS, Mint, good ol Ubuntu and various others.
In the end, i keep returning to Zorin. In terms of ease of use, and it being based on Ubuntu - i really don't think there's anything better out there.
If it were Windows, you'd be wasting your free time, where you could be doing something fun, instead trying to sort out why Windows hates you. With Zorin OS, things just work, allowing you to do something fun. Congrats!
There seem to be two types of user of ZorinOS.
First are those that come from Windows and just get on and use the OS to continue day-to-day tasks with minimal hiccups.
Second those who are unsatisfied or bored by the lack of OS bugs or issues who tinker with it to create some (sometimes to destruction) in order to have more of a challenge and something to work on.
I suggest neither of the above would regard themselves as ZorinOS haters
It works for all.
This had me rolling! Totally relatable: I agonized over leaving Windows for Linux and was pretty sure I wouldn't be able to figure it out and would just have to stop using computers all together outside of work. The first Linux I tried was Zorin OS and the install was so easy, and everything worked so well right away, that I was almost disappointed! I had expected so much drama, hair pulling and incomprehensible technical manuals...
lol. I “hate” it because I’m contrary. Some random person came onto Linux.org well after my problem was resolved and posted I should try Zorin. I hate it when people do that, but it really does work that well! I even have auto rotate and my fingerprint sensor working. With very little fuss! It’s magical!
I’ve been aware of Linux for many years, and even tried a freely-distributed example for a short while. Fully engaged with Windows, there was no need for any other OS. (Yes, I had zero hassles with Windows).
I have recently played with Linux using my excellent Chromebook Plus, so knew something of the genre.
Impending end-of-support for Win10 encouraged me to install Zorin on my old Acer laptop and it went without a hitch. Now used for experimentation as well as streaming. Very impressed.
I’m also impressed with the functionality of this forum; it must be written in Linux!
