The screenshot you linked to looks normal - although the terminal is opened within a directory in your Home Folder rather than being opened to just Home.
You can back up the tree with
cd ..
I also believe you are looking for ls, not sl to list directory contents. You can visit the tutorials category for some common commands and terminal tutorial.
