Hello ![]()
I have jsut a question: why installing GE-proton10-34 from prptonplus-Vtube studio not workib but when unsitall and install ge-proton10-34 from protonup-qt - is working amazing?
If the question is very difficult and I am worried about a question that contains a hidden camera, I will answer
ProtonPlus-Vtube puts GE-Proton files in a folder that Steam doesn't recognize in Zorin (mostly because of the Flatpak vs DEB path difference), while ProtonUp-Qt automatically detects the correct path for your copy of Steam and places the files in ~/.steam/root/compatibilitytools.d/ where everything works correctly.
Conclusion: Keep using ProtonUp-Qt because it is designed to handle variations of distributions like Zorin.

Protonplis install in /home/myacoitn/.setam/debian-instalation/compabilitytools.d like protonup-qt but - not working xD

I'm just doing my duty;
if you have a question, I'm not here.
That's actually a pretty common issue!
The main reason is how and where these two tools install the files. ProtonUp-Qt is currently the gold standard and is incredibly reliable with its paths, permissions, and extraction process.
On the other hand, ProtonPlus sometimes has bugs where it:
- Extracts the GE-Proton files into the wrong directory (so VTube Studio or Steam can't actually find it).
- Fails to set the correct execution permissions on the binaries inside the Proton folder during extraction.
- Corrupts the download/extraction slightly without throwing an error.
When you switched to ProtonUp-Qt, it wiped the broken installation and put the exact same GE-Proton version in the correct, clean directory with the right permissions, which is why it instantly worked flawlessly. Stick to ProtonUp-Qt for compatibility tools—it's much more stable!
