I need help getting suspicious fh5 running on zorin

as u know i have to launch the sus game as an exe after setup.
i tried lutris and even making my own prefix but still no luck
luckily i tried it w the heroic games launcher and finally had some luck but it stil doesnt work
i need help on how to make it work from scratch on hgl
like which proton version
launch arg etc
pls help

In which package format did you download Heroic Game Launcher? There is e.g. the deb. Package (Zorin Package) flatpak or snap.
It is best to use the Zorin package format. This causes the least problems. If another one is already installed, remove it first by clicking on "uninstall" in the software store. Using the Zorin package is for all software the best if you have problems or you are newbie in Linux, also for steam, lutris...

If you use other software packages such as snap and flatpak, you should ensure that they have the necessary permissions for file access.

I am not a gamer. My research showed that it could work with Proton Experimental or Proton GE.

i used .deb

the thing is that it does launch and says its playin but no window for it launches
even on the takbar

The best way to play games on Linux, is through the use of Steam. Go to the software store, type Steam...

After you have installed Steam, then scroll down, and click the box to install the Proton packs...

Now, launch Steam, create an account if you don't have one, or log into your current account.

Click on Store, search for game, buy, and install.

Go to Library and right click on your game in the list, properties.

Click on Compatibility, put check mark in force box, then choose a Proton version.

Try launching game pressing green launch button.

IMHO, its far too difficult to make Windows EXE files to launch, even with Wine, too much against you, too much for newcomers. Steam with Proton will always be the way to go!

If this helps, the game seems to go on sale pretty often by half the price.

You could wait until it does instead of paying full price.

Another possibility is using the Epic Games Store instead of Steam: it gives one or two games for free every week and you own them if you claim them before they get changed with the next week's free games. While it does not have an official linux launcher, you could use the Heroic Games Launcher, which supports playing your games from that store:

The version for zorin is the one that ends as "linux-amd64.deb"

This doesn't help with playing specifically Forza Horizon 5 until it appears in the free games of the week (if it ever happens), but you can play many other games with this.
