I have a core2duo triple-boot laptop. It ran Win10, Zorin and Mint. It only has BIOS, no UEFI so even with Rufus Windows workarounds, i couldn't install Win11 on it. Luckily, i was given a 1st gen i5 laptop which has two things i "always wanted" and that my old laptop didn't have: backlit keyboard and two-finger scroll touchpad. Pretty chuffed!
I found a home for my trusty core2duo laptop (an overseas charity that isn't fussy about the hardware - as long as it works), so it's now got Mint XFCE on it and off it's gone.
So i've triple booted this "new" laptop with Ubuntu, Zorin and Win11. The WiFi card in it was "B" (54 mbps), which ran at 121 mbps according to iwconfig. It worked everywhere. I had a spare card lying around which reports as 216 mbps. Seems a weird speed, but anyway - it's faster. I don't know hardware these days. But this faster card isn't picked up by Zorin. It is picked up by Ubuntu. I had a similar problem with a usb WiFi dongle that i've used for years in Mint.
Through "Additional drivers" Ubuntu says "no additional drivers available". Same in Zorin.
The card is an Atheros AR5007. I looked it up, and i haven't found anything notable that isn't 15+ years old. So any tips to get it working on Zorin, when it works on Ubuntu ootb?
