I want an easy, built-in, GUI way to change the login wallpaper

I want an easy, built-in, GUI way to change the login wallpaper, and perhaps the GUI size as well. It's one of the first things migrants from Windows will notice— that the login screen is... not pretty, and it will bother people. Super thanks!

Welcome to the Forum!

Yeah, that is a Gnome Thing. I would like to have a built-in customization Option for the Login Screen, too. I suggested that in the Past:

Maybe in Zorin 18 we could get that if it isn't too complicated to program.

iv'e searched this and found Loginized
might wanna read through it and try at own risk ?

Upon drag-and-drop to background image:

ERROR:

Error: Command failed: /tmp/.mount_LoginiGMAEtI/loginized-cli.sh --gui save Default,BeforeTheJump1440p.jpg,,true,false /usr/bin/bash: line 1: /tmp/.mount_LoginiGMAEtI/loginized-cli.sh: Permission denied

The Problem with Loginized is that it is pretty old and seems to be not compatible with newer Gnome Versions.

I concur that this should also be a feature that's available in stock gnome. It sould be under the "Backgrounds" tab as well, a simple checkbox even of "Allow this background as desktop, lock, or both" such as how an android phone gives options on the photo you want.

Well, I found this...

Unfortunately, its not found in the Zorin OS software store, nor the Synaptic Package Manager. And I don't feel like downloading something on Github, that I am going to have to burn braincells, figuring out a manual installation method, that might just do more damage then good. lol

I agree, it would indeed be nice, if something like this could be included in Zorin OS 18.

I normally use " gdm settings". Makes an easy task of modifying login screen.

I used it on Zorin and unfortunately it didn't worked.

That seemes to be the one that @rexx suggested, too.

When I was doing a quick bit of research, I learned about gdm-settings, but it doesn't appear to be something integrated into Zorin OS, nor can one install it from the Zorin OS packages. I am getting the feeling that the Zorin team didn't want it to be added for stability reasons possibly?

I seem to remember being able to customize the login screen back in the Zorin OS 9 - 12 days, but it doesn't appear to be a thing now days. Now, I will say this, when you do a full installation of the Star Labs theme package, it will change your login screen background, and it also changes your boot loading busy logo thing.

You can install GDM Settins normal in Gnome Software as Flatpak. As an Alternative an AppImage exists on the Github Page.
