I'm back at Zorin OS

After years of using Solus and Pop OS!, I have decided to return to Zorin OS. It's my first real Zorin OS version 18 I'm trying for real.
Glad to be back

Looking good!

I've just installed MX Linux on my main machine. After a while using a tiling window manager (i3), getting used to having all the windows floating around is a little disconcerting :joy:

Welcome back and enjoy your operating system! :+1:

I try out other distributions from time to time, but I always come back to Zorin. It just works.

Love MX Linux XFCE. I've already donated to MX Linux a couple times out of sincere appreciation. Love how the developers are active on the forums and have responded to users. Love their weekly updates. Love how it's based on Debian.

Great OS!

I will be very, very interested in your honest and unvarnished experience with Zorin OS 18. We do not know each other in real life, but I have come to respect you from seeing how you do things here on this forum. Your opinion counts. Please let us all know how Zorin OS 18 works for you. Thanks. (EDIT: Nice icons, by the way.)

So far I haven't encountered any problems, but I rarely do as I hand pluck my computer components specific to be very Linux compatible.
It's nice for a change not to setting stuff up from vanilla Gnome to have a function desktop. It's more polished than KDE when we talk about skin/appearance. The functionality is almost pair with KDE, but nothing beats KDE on that front.
I was to go Cosmic DE when released, but there still some major bugs that needs to be iron out.

Understood about the hardware side of things. Same here. My PC works well with Linux. But what about the software side of things? Would be curious to see if you encountered the same problems as I and others have reported (like not being able to uninstall certain applications, et cetera). Thanks. (And you're right about COSMIC - there are still some things System 76 need to work out.)

I have uninstalled a couple of things like libreoffice, rhytmebox, weather, scanner etc. but I haven't encountered problem uninstalling them. I know some apps are hardwired into Gnome (System apps) which will make serious breakage if removed.
Note: I updated my 18 core to pro without a hitch so that went smooth. And I have minimal installation.

Good luck is all I gotta say, glad things are working smoothly, but be prepared incase they don't.

Minimal is the way to go with Pro.
