whenever i use apps with proton and just random apps (obs for example), the audio just cuts out randomly and whenever i try to play audio files during this, its like it refuses to play the audio for some odd reason

i only have 2 speakers on my laptop so i don't really understand why it would happen because of more than 2 speakers when i dont have more than 2. but it does show disconnected audio ports for hdmi and USB so im wondering if that would also be the case on why proton does that
What soundcard/s do you have?
Have you tried playing around with alsamixer ?
Open a terminal session (ctrl+alt+T) then type
alsamixer
Use F6 to check/select soundcard.
Use F5 to show All audio channels, both capture and output.
