Is there anyone here who has tried and successfully used INAV for RC model planes. Ive installed a copy of Inav for Linux and also run a copy using the Windows version with Wine and have managed to get it opening fine but when I try and connect a FC (flight controller) it only shows devttyACMO as the comm port and nothing I have found will change this. So I booted the board in DFU mode and went through the procedure to flash the new firmware and it simply wont flash after pressing the flash firmware button. Both on DFU and devttyACMO. I tried loading the stml virtual comm port under wine and it said installed but that made no difference. So before I have to go back to windows for all my rc modelling especially with INAV has anyone an answer. Spent hours on this. As a matter of interestest the EDGETX transmitter software works fine. If someone has an answer would you be able to email me at donaldhill@xtra.co.nz
Complete shot in the dark, but this sounds oddly similar to this other thread:
It may be that brltty
(or perhaps something else) is preventing the remote controller from being recognized. The simplest solution is to uninstall it with:
sudo apt remove brltty
In case you do have the need to use Braille terminals, it's also possible to create a dedicated rule for the remote control without uninstalling completely.
Looks promising. Ill give it a try. Thank you for your reply. Not many that I can see use Zorin for Inav
Sadly didnt work. As soon as i plug in the USB it does know Ive done that with the devttyacmo showing but that as far as i get. Needs a com port found and displayed. I successfully removed the brltty as suggested.
This may also be relevant. I followed instructions similar to this while trying to get USB serial working before finding brltty as the final culprit. I don't know whether adding 'dialout' was a necessary step or not, but I can use ttyUSB after adding the group/adding myself to it and uninstalled brltty.
You might want to also checkout some of the support groups listed here. They probably have more experience with this issue in particular.
