Init Systems [SystemD... evil] will ZorinOS consider an alternative?

I can hear Raymond Reddington again!

I don't think arguing about whether the word "evil" is appropriate usage gets us very far.

99% of us that probably don't even know what makes something an "init system" or something else also completely beyond our comprehension. What us 99% need is some practical help in limiting the impact of systemD etc. We don't have @Aravisian's ability to develop our own alternatives or to remove, adapt or program for ourselves for Adwalta (which I thought was only a set of fonts that Zorin used).
Yes, I'm now relatively comfortable using the terminal which I certainly wasn't nine months ago but the rest of your suggestions are way beyond me and I think I probably speak for many.

@Aravisian tends to use Lite not Core so he was able to remove systemd as Lite uses xfce. Core uses GnomeDE and systemd is so well integrated that if you attempt to remove it the whole OS disintegrates.

This is true. What fixes I do are heavily dependent on the survival of XFCE and other projects that are being pushed out of the ecosystem by Gnomish dominance.

In MS Windows OS, you have One System. Everything is standardized. There is no variety and diversity discussion.
It is turning this way on GnuLinux. The only real contender against Gnome being the Only Standardized desktop is Plasma... and it is losing ground.

In years to come, the goal of us all being in lockstep and uniform under Adwaita will be realized. Follow the Human Interface Guidelines; do not deviate.
This is more important than many realize: Efficient workflow requires individuality. Differences in people include different Vision and interface needs. That is the core of Accessibility settings.

It is completely within your comprehension. You are smart, capable and aware.
What it is, is new and unfamiliar terms. In a field that is not your active area of interest.
INIT is Initialization - a starting process.
For a computer, at the point of boot, processes are not running - so how can a process tell another process to perform an action - if it is not running?
An Init system is a Cascade effect. A very simple process can begin simply by having power supplied, which in turn starts another slightly more complex process, which once started can start three more complex processes - until the entire machine has been initialized.

As @Ponce-De-Leon pointed out, SystemD is a SystemDaemon Server - not an init system. It contains an Init system.
A service supplier like systemd is best termed as a "Governor."
That meager bit of information is all that is needed to already give you an idea as to where the controversy is.
INIT is a small modular system that does only the task it needs to do: Initialize the system. Like starting a car.
Whereas SystemD is a broad reaching governor that continues running after init, managing, dictating, starting and stopping processes at will. Think of a Tesla Vehicle and it's deeply integrated system that will interfere, interact or bypass the driver.

I am a mechanic. I am a stubborn person. I do not have an innate ability - other than hardheadedness.
You and I are far more alike in that we are stumped and daunted by the new and unknown ground, the unfamiliar terms and territory.
I may have had more time on GnuLinux. The beauty of this is we have a witness party to this: @swarfendor437. He was there when I first migrated. He watched me confused, mistaken, floundering. He observed my first very amateur attempts into modifying my system. My dismal failures. And my stark frustration at not comprehending the system.
My constant pleas for help.

The first time I saw this video was when I had first moved to Linux, with Zorin 17. Most of the reference I didn't understand. Just watched it again. I get the references. The craft is hilarious. The message underneath is... painful.

I don't have the Impression that Plasma is losing Ground. I would think it is relatively balanced. I mean, when You look on Fedora for Example. A long Time only Gnome was the Flagship but they set Plasma now aside it - not as a 2nd Place. On one Level.

And because of xfce, I wouldn't be too concerned. Their Development might be not so ... shiny like Gnome or Plasma but it continues heavily like now with work on Wayland. They even pay a Developer now for programming their xfwl Wayland Compositor.

You are more optimistic than I am. I will take the encouragement and not argue the case.
Let's stay hopeful.

Well, I can understand the Ground of Your Concerns when I think about the MATE Situation. And with Budgie it looked for a Time not so good, too. But it seems, it goes forward with a Rebuild in QT.

Aeryn OS is taking it up for discussion for alternatives in the future, instead of SystemD - #Research & Development > Replacing systemd

Unfortunately, You must be signed in to read that.
