Thanks once again for the Guide. I followed it and it worked well until the
RST required message appeared again when trying to continue installing the
Live OS.
Ubuntu Installation on PC with RST enabled.
Thank you for your response. I will review the process.
I see the issue - I'm using Zorin, you're using Windows. For Windows, you would just extract the .ISO file using WinZip or 7zip - either one. Then copy the files and boot.
Windows 11 Change RST to AHCI
Followed these two steps and made the changes.
Cannot boot into Windows - blue screen appears with the following message:
STOP Code: Inaccessible Boot Drive
My Windows 11 Intel Chipset is RST Optane - according to the reviews I have read
RST cannot be changed with Optane memory.
Please advise how I correct this situation.
I would hope you just turn RST back on. I have no experience of RST period but clearly it is a mechanism to prevent you from doing what you want with your computer, yet another example of 'Wintel'.
Thanks for your response.
What is Wintel?
Thanks for your response.
Good question! Newbie to Linux.
Trying to achieve a simple workable solution. Access to Linux with Windows 11.
Wintel is a nickname given to the collaboration between Microsoft (Windows) and Intel, hence Wintel - the phrase being banned from use at Intel!
+1 Dual-boot!
Thanks for your support. I am dual booting Linux Zorin OS 17 Core and Windows 11.
Really enjoying and learning as I go.
Much appreciated.
