Hi. Anyome. Should i install 610 proprietary drivers. To reduce ventilators fan making noise ? Thanks.
probably skip jumping to 610 just for fan noise. that branch has been rough for some people on zorin.
use Additional Drivers / the packaged one (or sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall), reboot, then check nvidia-smi and idle fans.
if fans are still loud at idle after that, power management usually does more than a branch hop. say what gpu you have if it still screams.
4080 latop with high end processor. It is very loud when emulating games...
4080 laptop screaming under game emulation is load and heat. a driver branch hop wont make that quiet.
while emulating watch:
nvidia-smi
if the gpu sits at high clocks the whole time, thats the noise. try lower emu resolution, vsync on, and leave the packaged driver alone. use performance mode only while gaming, then drop back after.
also check vents / a cooler pad. that usually beats chasing 610.
You wrote in another gaming thread that it runs fine:
"I am playing trough Geforce Now. And it is working fine. No overheating or ventilator running when playing Steam Proton by exemple."
Is the problem new?
You could simply try it with the Driver. An Alternative would be to manually set up the Fans for Your Card. For this, You could use the Program LACT:
LACT .....good app...I use that on my amd RX 6600XT keeps it running cool
Forpli: yes geforce now is running fine. But not steam.
The problem is ventilation...
